Prayer of Confession

One truly difficult but rewarding way to pray is that of confession. To confess means to own up to or admit that something is true. As believers, we are called to confess our sins to God.

"Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, 'I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.' And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone." Psalm 32:5 (NLT)

It's not easy to admit when we have done something wrong; if we have lied or hurt someone. Often we want to hide these things because of our guilt. But just as the scripture says, God forgives! When we confess, God removes our guilt and shame. We can rejoice knowing that God loves and forgives us!

It may be scary at first, but confessing our selfishness and wrong choices is such a rewarding way to pray. It allows us to experience the mercy and love of our Heavenly Father.

And don't forget. Never. Stop. Praying.
